St Albans Car and Van Hire in the Tyttenhanger area

Found off junction 22 of the M25, many people are visitors to the Tyttenhanger area as guests to the magnificent Tyttenhanger Park. Set in a natural woodland landscape, this venue caters for weddings, conferences and events, and is steeped in history.

Early maps show this great estate and house referred to as Tittenhanger. It is said that the estate of Tittenhanger was given to the Albiny family by William the Conqueror, as a grant, around the 1100s. A stately home fit for a king, King Henry VIII visited the house in 1528, trying to avoid the many illnesses and plagues which he feared greatly.

With its wonderful rooms and luscious lawns, and open to the public for special days and events, why not hire a vehicle from St. Albans Car and Van Hire – ideal for a family outing or group visit by gardening clubs, horticultural groups etc.

The Tyttenhanger area is also popular with bird watchers and anglers. It is one of Hertfordshire’s best birding areas due to Tyttenhanger Gravel Pits – areas of active quarrying, with shallow pools, mudflats, parkland, open farmland and woodlands.

Situated in the shallow Colne Valley between St Albans and Hatfield, the site supports a range of wildlife habitat, and its wide variety of birds includes the resident Tree Sparrow and Yellowhammer at Tyttenhanger Farm.

St Albans Car and Van Hire is also popular with holiday makers, with Heathrow Airport just under an hour, and Gatwick just over an hour away. If there’s a group of you going away, it makes sense to hire a vehicle (ask a friend to drive), and save on those extortionate airport parking charges!
